Job Description
Special Education Beginning Teacher and Staff Development Specialist
This is a regular ten-month contract with full benefits.
Job Goal
: to collaboratively plan and implement activities exclusively for beginning special
education teachers through the district’s Beginning Teacher Support Program;
lead efforts to recruit, support and retain special education teachers; and
conduct observations and/or evaluations for the purpose of developing and implementing
professional development.
Requires
Bachelor's degree in Special Education; Master's degree or National Board Certification preferred; five or more years of experience as a special education teacher; prior lead or mentor experience preferred.
NC teaching credential in special education and a valid NC driver's license also required.
