The International Relations Office (IRO) is recruiting for an International Partnerships Manager (Research) to join our dynamic team and provide high-level support for the development and delivery of the University’s strategic research partnerships, networks and alliances.
About the role:
Reporting to the Director of International Relations, you will manage a portfolio of existing and emerging research-led partnerships and will play a pivotal role in developing new opportunities for global engagement. Providing expert advice and service for international research collaboration, mobility and funding development, you will build relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, working closely with our academic community and professional services staff, and liaising with representatives at partner universities and other organisations in the Higher Education sector.
Working alongside the International Partnerships Manager (Education), you will exercise operational oversight of all IRO-managed research partnership activity while providing expertise and sharing good practice to support the University’s ambitions for excellent, impactful and inclusive research partnerships that raise our institutional profile overseas. Working with the Faculties and research centres, you will inform strategic research engagement in close coordination with the Associate Deans (Internationalisation), with the role acting as the IRO’s point of contact with the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
You will be expected to manage internal funding schemes for internationalisation, including the Bath Global Chair visiting professorship programme, and will coordinate a complex and busy schedule of visits and delegations. You will particularly support the internationalisation of research training, including at doctoral and postdoctoral levels, and will leverage international funding to create new global opportunities for our students and staff. Overseeing partner agreements and informing resource provision, you will be responsible for due diligence and risk assessment, undertaking high-quality analysis and evaluation and managing all related processes and procedures. You will also contribute to our civic engagement, developing international partnerships that enhance the societal impact of research and inform communities of practices in sustainability, inclusion and diversity.
About you:
The successful candidate will bring a keen interest and in-depth knowledge of international Higher Education, including current trends and issues, and will have prior experience in research partnership development or funding. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, well-organised and collegiate, with the ability to coordinate complex projects, take the initiative, and build successful relationships with diverse stakeholders across the University and externally. You will have strong research and analytical skills and will be an efficient and confident communicator across different cultural contexts and levels of seniority. Previous experience of interpreting HE sector intelligence and evaluating opportunities or drafting reports and business cases for institutional stakeholders, including senior leaders, will be highly valued. Experience in external funding development, including research funding, is desirable.
The normal place of work is predominantly the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. campus. Due to COVID 19 some remote working (based in the UK) may be required, in line with government guidance.
