Under the direction of the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Associate will be responsible for assisting in the administration of Federal, State and Institutional Financial Aid Programs. The Associate is responsible for reconciling Pell and Direct loans. Advising students and parents in the financial aid process, eligibility and procedures. This position will review and evaluate applications and make award adjustments. In addition, the Financial Aid Associate will be responsible for packaging awards, monitoring expenditures and reconciling other data.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for reconciling Pell and Direct loans with the federal government on a monthly basis.
Reviews, verifies, and processes applications and supporting documents in accordance with established guidelines to determine financial aid eligibility in coordination with Associate Director.
Prepares financial aid packages, including grants and loan certification in coordination with Associate Director.
Provide information to students and their families regarding financial aid programs.
Assist students with interpretation of financial aid status and eligibility for programs.
Evaluate and resolve student inquiries, issues, and problems.
Import/Export financial aid applications and other financial aid data files using ED Connect.
Maintains ongoing knowledge of Federal, State, and College financial aid/ loan regulations.
Import/Export financial aid processing with ProEducation Solutions.
Perform Financial Aid presentations on and off campus.
Requires weekly evening office hours and Saturday events as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
Excellent organization and administrative skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
Excellent human relation skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ELM, NSLDS, NJHESAA E-Administrator, Banner software applications, ED Connect.
Bilingual-Spanish preferred.
