The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking a Long-Term Substitute High School counselor to join a school committed to high levels of achievement for all students. This position requires working with a caseload of up to 300 students from diverse backgrounds and providing counseling, academic planning, and consultation services as part of a fast-paced, high-energy, and positive school counseling team.
The required education and experience for this position include:
Education
Minimum Required: Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License
Endorsement as a School Counselor or eligible for Vermont Provisional License
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred: Ongoing educational coursework in school counseling
Experience:
Minimum Required: Experience providing individual and group counseling and/or providing crisis assessment, intervention, and referrals to appropriate agencies
Experience providing consultation with colleagues and with multiple student support systems
Experience at the high school level
Knowledge of best practices regarding frameworks of student behavioral support
Experience leading and managing group meetings and presenting information in a variety of formats and settings
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
General knowledge: Sufficient knowledge of a field to perform most work in normal situations. The work calls for comprehension of standard situations and includes knowledge of most of the significant aspects of the subject
List Specific Skills And/Or Abilities Required:
Excellent interpersonal skills
Flexibility and critical-thinking skills
Understanding of Cultura
Competency (as explained through Essay 1 on SchoolSpring)
Experience with a multicultural student environment and English Language Learners.
Experience in professional/teaching learning communities or other evidence of facilitative or collaborative teamwork
Experience with the facilitation and/or coordination of student support services
Strong communication skills as evidenced through quality of resume, cover letter, and essays
