Job Description:
This is a tenure-track faculty position with a regular 11-month contract teaching graduate-level courses in the school counseling master's program. Additional responsibilities include supervising school counseling interns, periodically serving as a committee member of doctoral dissertations, developing and maintaining a scholarly trajectory including publications and presentations, and serving on School of Education and campus-wide committees.
Job Description/Duties:
Teach graduate courses in the School Counseling master's program on campus and/or online. A typical credit load is 33 credits for those on 11-month contracts.
Provide leadership for the School Counseling program as coordinator or program supervisor. A teaching load reduction will be commensurate with responsibilities.
Assist with supervising school counseling interns
Collaborate with faculty to develop a Clinical Mental Health program
Collaborate with faculty with maintaining CACREP accreditation
Serve as a committee member of doctoral dissertations
Develop and maintain a scholarly trajectory that includes publications and presentations, along with serving on School of Education and campus-wide committees.
Requirements:
Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited institution is required. A successful candidate will have university and K-12 experience, broad knowledge of counselor education, an understanding of the school counseling profession, scholarly promise or evidence of scholarly work in counseling or counselor education, and evidence of a collaborative approach to working with students and faculty. Candidates who are license-eligible in mental health counseling in the state of Washington is strongly preferred.
Candidates should provide evidence of a clear commitment to the Christian faith and the goals of social, racial, decolonial, and linguistic justice in the classroom.
Our curriculum focuses on developing core competencies necessary for K-12 practitioners to realize educational equity for all learners. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion with respect to teaching, mentoring and/or research.
