The Assistant Director of Expanded Learning is responsible for supporting the Director of Expanded Learning in overall management and administration of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.’s Expanded Learning Opportunities to maximize and extend learning for Burlington’s students beyond the traditional school day. These include the afterschool programs at nine BSD schools which serve 1700 children K-12 during the school year, and summer learning programs that serve approximately 500 elementary, middle and high school students. The Assistant Director works closely with Site Directors, child care partner agencies, community partners, and school administrators to facilitate the delivery of high quality afterschool programming at each site in compliance with state and district regulations and program goals and objectives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree or above
- Strong organizational, administrative and managerial skills
- A minimum of five years' experience in afterschool programs; child care services; teaching, social work or related experience
- Previous licensed afterschool program management highly preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to, and experience in, team building across organizational lines
- Familiar with laws and regulations governing education and licensed child-care in Vermont
- Experience in developing and managing community partnerships
- Experience in staff recruitment and hiring
- Supervision and management experience
- Proficient in computer applications, including data collection and budget management, spreadsheets, email and internet use
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Responsible for creating and sustaining community partnerships
- Support sites regarding facilities use, program issues, student behavior, etc.
- Support report and grant writing as needed
- Disseminate best practices across sites

- Substitute on site, as needed
