Job Description:
The Psychology Department at Assumption University (Worcester, MA) seeks candidates for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position in Clinical Child Psychology, beginning August, 2023. Candidates must be committed to teaching graduate and undergraduate students, with the majority of courses taught in the afternoons or evenings in the Clinical Counseling Psychology master's degree program. Teaching assignments will include graduate-level courses (e.g., Abnormal Psychology, Counseling Principles, Cognitive-Behavioral Assessment of Children's Problems, Developmental Psychology) and undergraduate courses (e.g., General Psychology, Research Seminar). The successful candidate must have a strong background in the clinical practice of cognitive-behavioral therapy.
There is a vibrant culture of faculty-student research and excellence in teaching, with many opportunities for collaborating with colleagues in the Psychology Department and across campus. Applicants must have earned a doctorate in Psychology by the date of hire. Preference will be given to candidates with university-level teaching experience.
