We seek to appoint two Associate Professors in Cyber Security on an enhanced Research Pathway - ****) to join the Department of Computer Science as part of the School of Mathematics and Computer Science led by Professor Elaine Crooks.
We would be delighted to hear from interested parties who are pioneering new techniques and addressing new problems in Cyber Security. Computer Science at Swansea is already actively pursuing security agendas in terms of access, identity, privacy, and trust. Furthermore, we are home to an EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training that addresses challenging questions relating to AI and big data including many related to security. We are open to a variety of security specialisms within the broad field of Cyber Security, especially those that resonate with or complement the research expertise in the Department: HCI, Visualisation, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Theoretical Computer Science. We are particularly seeking applications from candidates with expertise in applied/ experimental aspects. Current Swansea research in Cyber Security covers a wide spectrum of techniques such as blockchain, protocol verification, ML and AI, which are applied in domains such as railway, mobile devices, low powered networks, monitoring and surveillance. The new position could expand the research profile or strengthen and deepen some of the existing techniques and domains.
You will need to have a sustained track record of research outputs in high quality publications or other media showing a continuing upward trajectory in the quality of research outputs as well as success in obtaining significant funding or other resources to underpin original research within the field of Cyber Security.
