The instructional coach serves as part of the school’s leadership team, providing job-embedded and ongoing professional development for teachers. They will provide support to the principal and leadership team in data analysis and professional development decision-making. They provide professional development and guidance for teachers to improve their content knowledge and instructional strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise in one or more content areas with teaching experience at the 6-12 level.
Candidates selected for an interview will be asked to submit a video clip. The video will show the candidate presenting or facilitating adult learning. The adult interaction video could be during a content or grade level team meeting, professional learning community session, or other adult learning experience led by the candidate.
The video will help the interview team in understanding the adult learning strengths of the candidate which is important for effective coaching. The role of an instructional coach is to help support the learning journey of the teachers in their building by creating a partnership built on trust and knowledge.
