**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. has an anticipated opening for an Assistant Director of the Center for Accessibility & Inclusive Education.
Reporting to the Director, the Assistant Director will be responsible for supporting students with disabilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The Assistant Director will review documentation and determine accommodations and serve as an advocate for students with disabilities on campus.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct intake interviews for students requesting accommodations, interpret documentation for all areas of disability, develop recommendations for accommodations, monitor classroom implementation for students with disabilities.
Support the Director in creating faculty/staff development programs focusing on the needs of students with disabilities and specific strategies to support their academic achievement.
Primarily responsible for hiring/scheduling student workers.
Responsible for informing faculty of the college's responsibility under the law to provide service to students and work collaboratively with faculty to implement accommodations. Serve as a consultant to teaching faculty regarding students with disabilities.
Research and advise the Director and the campus community on new technologies to assist students.
Provide guidance in the development and implementation of assistive technology.
Serve as a contact person for transition planning with bi-county high school counselors and Child study team members.
Make appropriate referrals to other College departments, personnel, and community agencies. Track progress of students during the semester.
Provide information to students with disabilities at College recruitment and orientation programs and disseminate information describing services available through the CAIE.
Work with the Director to maintain current knowledge of research in all disability areas.
Participate fully as a member of the Student Services staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in student personnel or related field with 2-3 years of experience in a college or university setting and a demonstrated ability to make determinations on issues involving ADA and Section 504 required. Master's degree in counseling, student personnel or related field strongly preferred.
Excellent communications skills and the ability to work with faculty and administration on these important student needs.
Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary.
Additional Information:
12 month position with 37.5 hours per week, some evening and weekends required.
