**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking FIVE (5) students for the position of Student Leader for First Year Registration Sessions (FYRS) & New Student Orientation serving the offices of Advising, Counseling & Transfer Services (ACTS) and Student Life.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Present a positive, welcoming demeanor to help incoming first-time students feel comfortable.
Represent the college and serve as a role model student to new students at FYRS & New Student Orientation.
Assist with set-up, check-in and student registration at FYRS.
Assist with preparation and implementation of New Student Orientation.
Refer/walk FYRS attendees to various campus resources (Financial Aid, Admissions, Enrollment) on an as-needed basis.
Provide tours to new students at New Student Orientation programs.
Handle confidential documents and information.
Be on time for FYRS & New Student Orientation as scheduled.
Complete time sheets promptly, accurately, and submit them by the deadlines specified.
Refer potential problems to a supervisor.
Requirements:
Applicants must be current RVCC students.
Be available on Wednesdays for FYRS (First Year Registration Sessions) from April** - August 2023 at various times (9am - 12 pm, 1 - 4 pm, and 2 - 5pm), as well as several New Student Orientation Sessions in August (Dates TBD by Student Life)
Be able to communicate and interact positively and effectively with staff, students, and parents
Working knowledge of and ability to explain how to use RVCC systems: Lion's Den, Lion Mail, Degree Audit, EduNav, etc.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
**If you have a Spring or Summer class that may conflict with a few of the sessions, you are still welcome to apply. Students do not need to be available to work every session.
Additional Information:
Student leaders will be compensated at $15/hr and will be paid on a Bi-Weekly schedule.
