Job Description:
General Summary: The Academic Programs Manager for the School of Health Sciences (SHS) reports to the Manager, Budget & Business Operations with a matrixed reporting to the SHS Dean and Associate Dean of Nursing. Independent manager over all administration of SHS Academic programs, undergraduate admissions, program orientation, student academic services processes, events, and SHS Academic program operations.
ADMISSIONS:
Serves as the SHS Liaison with SPU Undergraduate Admissions and Enrollment Operations.
Promotes the Undergraduate Nursing Program in collaboration with SPU Undergraduate Admissions.
Manages the Undergraduate Nursing Program admissions procedures and criteria in conjunction with the SHS Undergraduate Nursing Admissions Committee, including initial application review.
Coordinates the onboarding of incoming Graduate Nursing students with the Graduate Admissions office, including DNP Orientation.
Creates and leads revisions to orientation materials for new undergraduate and graduate nursing students, including the development and maintenance of an orientation site on the learning management system (Canvas), in collaboration with the Associate Dean and SHS Staff.
Supports the Undergraduate Nursing Program admission process by ensuring efficient processes, tracking and communication with students, and providing reports as needed.
Communicates answers regarding programs and Undergraduate/Graduate Nursing admissions information. Participates in and supports recruitment events through maintenance of materials and the website. Attends events as needed.
ACADEMIC SERVICES for SHS Programs:
Develops and implements communication plan to ensure SHS students are well informed regarding program, pathways, courses, and university information.
Oversees maintenance of student files (including purging and archiving policies), monitors student progression, and assists the making of curriculum sequence drafts.
Responds to student inquiries and assists students as necessary.
Manages academic petition processes for all SHS students.
Strategically coordinates creation and publication of Time Schedule, Catalog, Handbook, room-scheduling, and course-related documents for all SHS programs based on University and Program approval processes. Creates systems for collection/retrieval of information as needed.
Facilitates nursing student licensure and certification processes (i.e., Nurse Tech, NCLEX-RN, & ANCC). Assists the Associate Dean and Dean in auditing degree requirements for graduating students (undergraduate and DNP) and authorizing awarding of degrees in conjunction with the Office of the Registrar and Office of Academic Counseling.
ADMINISTRATION:
Supports continuous quality improvement for all SHS programs.
Supports school and departmental committees (e.g., scheduling, minutes, communication).
Manages data and reporting for all aspects of SHS programs including admissions, course registration, clinical experiences, graduation, and post-graduation. Shares maintenance of statistical data for various institutional reports and surveys.
Plans and executes academic events for SHS programs in collaboration with the Associate Dean, Administrative Assistant, and Budget and Business Operations Manager.
Maintains confidentiality in all public contacts, employee, and student matters. Handles administrative and clerical tasks of confidential nature.
Facilitates clear communication between and among SHS constituencies (e.g., students, SHS and SPU staff & faculty, and the professional community).
Appropriately delegates to student employees and Administrative Assistant and provides necessary support and oversight for tasks/projects.
Works collaboratively with SHS Staff to ensure smooth function of SHS spaces and programs.
Requirements:
Minimum of AA degree, bachelor's degree a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of office-based administrative support experience.
A vital Christian faith and ability to function within a team of administrative assistants to support the work of School of Health Sciences.
Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills. Warm and welcoming--always willing to assist students, faculty, and colleagues.
Computer literacy and excellent ability to use office equipment and skillful at using a variety of word processing/database programs and web-based resources. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Outlook and Excel.
Uses time efficiently and diligently. Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and tasks with composure.
Aptitude for learning new skills.
A demonstrated ability to manage and implement complex projects from initial conception to completion.
Knowledge and experience with academic database programs and systems of records management (e.g., Banner) is a plus.

Position will remain open until filled.
Salary: $57,000 - $58,000 DOE
This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes contributions to an employee HSA account and to a retirement account after one year of eligibility in the plan.
