Research Associate¿Modelling carbon and nitrogen cycling responses to land use change to inform nature-based solutions.
The Pellegrini Lab ( ****) is recruiting a postdoctoral research associate (2 years) to work on modelling carbon and nitrogen cycling in both natural and agricultural settings. We aim to estimate carbon and nitrogen storage potential under a range of land use and land cover change scenarios, benchmarked against our own empirical data.
The project involves running carbon and nitrogen cycling models at regional to global scales and working with the broader lab group to refine predictions of nature-based climate solutions. The postdoc will also work to integrate new emission estimates into life-cycle analyses.
This position is part of a larger project aiming to revise how carbon offsets are measured, modelled, and traded. The postdoc will work closely with another postdoc developing complementary ecosystem models, a PhD student on data synthesis, and companies involved in carbon credit markets.
Preferred start date is summer 2023. Please direct all queries to ****
We especially encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
