We are seeking dynamic and innovative practitioners to join our instructional team on an adjunct basis beginning August 2023. The OTA Program is offered as a full time day program; therefore, instructors must be able to commit to this schedule.
Seeking instruction in the following occupational therapy assistant courses: Adult Physical Disabilities OTA laboratory instructor, Adult Physical Disabilities Classroom instructor, Adult Physical Disabilities Clinical Conditions instructor and OTA management and Ethics instructor. Classroom instructor position requires preparation of classroom lecture, curriculum review and student evaluations. The Laboratory instructor position requires preparation of lab activities, curriculum review and student evaluations.
Provide instruction with the focus on teaching and learning to help assure students in each class successfully meet all course outcomes and classroom objectives.
Participate in curriculum monitoring and development process by providing feedback on curriculum to PDs and/or System-level curriculum team.
Manages the learning environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school/campus academic and attendance policies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the classes to be taught with a Master's degree preferred.
Current OT/OTA license
3 to 5 years' experience in the field of Adult/Geriatric/ Physical Disabilities Occupational Therapy/ Occupational Therapy Assistant
One to two years' experience in instruction or formalized education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college institution.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.
Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills)
Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines. Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents. Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision
Ability to learn from students' participation, demonstrates fair and consistent behavior in all matters, and shows compassion without being ineffectual
