The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry offers three baccalaureate degree tracks: the traditional B.S. in Chemistry; a B.S. in Chemistry with a concentration in Forensic Chemistry; and a B.S. in Biochemistry. All three tracks are certified by the American Chemical Society. The Department also offers a terminal Master's Degree in Chemistry and a Master's in Teaching Chemistry.
Duties and Responsibilities
A cohesive research plan and a complete understanding of curriculum design will be expected. The successful candidate must reach the hearts and minds of the students through evidence-based teaching methods. The successful candidate is expected to develop extramurally fundable research programs that complement existing departmental priorities. Qualifications
The successful candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry. The candidate must be an energetic, growth-minded, data-driven, creative problem solver and passionate about teaching chemistry and biochemistry to majors and non-majors. The applicant should be experienced in engaging undergraduates in publishable research. Desirable qualifications include a distinguished scholarly record demonstrated by documented evidence of teaching, scientific communication, research, service accomplishments, and a history of external funding. Salary is commensurate with rank and experience.
