Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Pediatric Cardiac Surgery
University of Maryland Medical Center is seeking a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP)
or Physician Assistant (PA)
with a desire to join our multidisciplinary Pediatric Cardiac Surgical team.
The NP or PA is responsible for 24/7 care of children with highly complex cardiac disease, often requiring ECMO and highly dynamic critical care. The NP or PA is responsible for diagnosing and treating pediatric cardiac patients in collaboration with physician colleagues. The NP or PA provides continuity
of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the health care team, patient and patient's family. The NP or PA is highly involved in the education process for patients, families and other members of the health care team as necessary. The NP or PA also serves as a link, integrating relevant research and best practices.
This position offers an opportunity for an expanded pediatric specialty position, delivering comprehensive care in a cardiac surgery ICU, with routine interdisciplinary interactions and the opportunity for professional advancement within the team and the system. The position offers a full time, primarily day shift schedule.
What You Need to Be Successful:
A Master of Science degree, with completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program. Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Nursing, and certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the area of specialization. A minimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience is required.
Physician Assistant applicants must have successfully completed a PA program and obtain a Maryland PA license. Must have 1 years experience as a PA-C
CRNP Pediatric Acute Care certification required
