GERMAN TEACHER-LTC / PART TIME 0.4

Profile

BHS is seeking a passionate and energetic part time (0.4FTE) German Teacher to join a school committed to high levels of achievement of all students. This position requires teaming with other World Language teachers to plan curriculum in a professional learning community and support students from diverse backgrounds finding success in high school. This position is for January 2021 to June 2021 only.
Required Qualifications:
Experience teaching science at the high school level.
Experience in differentiating instruction and planning curriculum using “backwards design” and formative assessments.
Understanding of Cultural Competency (as explained through Essay 1 on SchoolSpring).
Knowledge of best practices in engaging and motivating students and managing student behaviors.
Preferred Attributes
Participation in professional learning community groups including working collaboratively with colleagues to plan units of study, review student data and progress, and adjust instruction.
A commitment to student-centered learning approaches including personalizing instruction and supporting students meeting core proficiencies
Training and experience with English Language Learners and students with disabilities.
Evidence of strong connection with students and families.
Strong communication skills as evidenced through quality of resume, cover letter, and essays.
Key Accountabilities:
Foster class/age appropriate thought, discussion, reading, comprehension, speaking, listening, writing in the German language
Plan, initiate and guide study in German which meets curriculum requirements per class age
