Job Description:
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the VP of Student Administration, the Director of Student Services manages day-to-day operations for the office of student services and implements programs designed to promote a student-centered environment. The Director oversees academic English pathway programs, student development programs (e.g. tutoring, student organizations), Housing and Residence Life, student accommodations, and serves as the institution's Title IX Coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
English Language Programs(25%)
: manage Academic English Language Pathway Program, including but not limited to the hiring, training, and supervision of English Language Faculty; maintenance of curriculum and instructional materials; conducting student placement; handling student performance issues; and working collaboratively with International Operations in the promotion of the program.
Student Services (20%)
: manage Housing and Residence Life operations; participate in university programs and initiatives that impact student persistence and the overall student experience; develop and implement student support services as directed that promote diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion; review and approve requests for new student organizations/groups; ensure student organization leaders and advisors receive regular training and guidance; monitor ongoing adherence to university policies and procedures related to student groups.
Title IX (20%)
: serve as the Title IX Coordinator overseeing and coordinating investigations, compliance with regulations, and management of investigation and adjudicator team.
Accommodations (15%)
: Develop and implement policies and protocols that facilitate the delivery of accommodation services to students including but not limited to ADA-related accommodations for students in the U.S. and provincial related compliance in Canada; partner with provosts/deans/program directors to provide information and materials to faculty regarding accommodations.
Compliance (10%)
: Assist in monitoring and promoting compliance with external regulations in the areas of Title IX, ADA, Clery Act, SARA, privacy and record keeping (FERPA/PIPEDA, GDPR/CSPA-CPRA), and other legislative and regulatory mandates applying to university operations.
Supervision (10%)
: Accomplish department/division objectives by supervising employees and monitoring their progress and performance; develop and support employees within their roles via coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in related fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Higher Education Administration experience preferred.
Minimum of four years of experience in delivery of English Language Programs including curriculum development and faculty supervision.
Excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills that enable effective support of a diverse student population.
Proven time and project management skills, ability to adjust to changing workloads and priorities, and ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross departmental groups.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from diverse groups of student, staff, faculty and outside agencies.
Proficiency with MS Office products; experience with PeopleSoft preferred.

Salary information:
$70,000 -- $75,000/year DOE
