Job Description:
Assumption University seeks candidates for a full-time tenure track position in Clinical Child Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Psychology Department is looking for someone committed to teaching graduate and undergraduate students, able to involve students in research, whose teaching interests can contribute to the Clinical Counseling Psychology Program, and who is interested in advising students and serving the University and the greater community. The successful candidate must have a strong background in cognitive-behavioral therapy and the ability to teach a number of courses in the Master of Arts program in Clinical Counseling Psychology. Teaching assignments will include graduate-level courses (e.g., counseling principles, cognitive-behavioral assessment of children's problems) and undergraduate courses (e.g., general psychology, statistics, research seminar).
There is a vibrant culture of faculty-student research and excellence in teaching, with many opportunities for collaborating with colleagues within the University as well as at neighboring institutions. Applicants must have earned a doctorate in Psychology by the date of hire and provide evidence of scholarship and promise of developing a research program. Preference will be given to candidates with university-level teaching experience.
