The University of Greenwich are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, well organized person to assist in delivering forensic science practicals in the School of Science at the University of Greenwich, Medway campus.
The role is primarily concerned with supporting our learning by doing strategy and helping students in a practical way to uncover and examine contact trace material associated with crimes. Support for our crime scene to court structure will include the post holder assisting students in attending and examining the scenes of crime; sifting and sorting evidence; recording findings and collecting trace evidence; inputting relevant data into computer programs and making of notes and plans to record the scene.
The role will involve techniques such as gas and high performance liquid chromatography, scanning electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy and DNA profiling and detailed knowledge of these techniques is essential. Applicants for this post will be educated to Degree level in Forensic Science and have experience in working in a forensic teaching laboratory. Experience of delivering outreach activities would be advantageous. This is a full time position.
