SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward-thinking, and engaging faculty to join the School of Applied Technologies starting mid-August 2021. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty member to teach in the Plumbing and Heating program. Desired candidates will have a good working knowledge of both domestic and commercial plumbing and heating systems. This should include a strong knowledge of electrical systems and controls used throughout the industry. The faculty member will be expected to perform well in both in-person and online lecture settings and in a laboratory environment with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning. Besides classroom and lab instruction, this faculty member will also serve as an academic advisor, participate in student clubs and their projects, serve on campus committees, and seek other forms of collegiate involvement.
Areas of responsibilities include:
Program Development
Participate in annual systematic assessment of program
Participate in analyzing data and make recommendations for curriculum and programmatic revisions where necessary
Teaching Responsibilities
Provide evidence-based instruction in accordance with the policies set forth by the College
Post and keep regular office hours for the convenience of students
Participate in the assessment of course, student learning, and program outcomes
Incorporate student service learning opportunities
Advisement
Assist in advisement of students
Guide and counsel students toward personal and career development
Track student's completion of progression requirements
Academic & Organization Commitment
Serve on campus committees
Mentor Adjunct Faculty
Special Projects
Participate in faculty meetings
Participate in accreditation reviews and reports
Engage in the academic and organizational life of the college
Pursue scholarly interests
Requirements:
Associate degree in Plumbing and Heating, or a related field from an accredited institution
3 or more yrs professional experience with domestic and commercial Plumbing and Heating, or a related field
Knowledge of CADD operating systems
Valid unrestricted drivers license with acceptable driving record by the time of appointment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor degree or higher in a related field
Teaching experience
Strong computer and technology skills
Additional Information:
Salary: depending on degree
This is a 10-month academic year, tenure track position
