The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is in the midst of one of the most transformational campus redevelopments since the first phase of building on our Edgbaston campus was completed in 1909. You will be joining our team at a time when three outstanding new facilities have opened for our Engineering community. Our new £65M signature School building, our £28M UK Rail Research and Innovation Network (UKRRIN) Centre of Excellence for Digital Systems and our world-leading £26M National Buried Infrastructure Facility have recently opened their doors to welcome students, staff, industry, policymakers and the local community.
We are interested in motivated applicants to provide increased teaching and administration support, including: the development and delivery of tutorials, laboratories, and group project exercises; to oversee industrial placements and relevant liaison (e.g. tripartite meetings); and coursework and examination marking for our cohorts of undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD students on rail-focussed degree apprenticeship programmes. Posts will focus on the delivery of the degree apprenticeship programmes in railway systems engineering; arranging necessary reporting/apprentice meetings; developing new apprenticeship programmes. Successful candidates will be part of our Learning & Teaching Group, working closely with other Teaching Fellows and existing academic staff to develop and support our students' outstanding learning experience and prepare them for their future careers in engineering.
Development and delivery of tutorials, laboratories, and group project exercises for undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD students as appropriate
Academic administration as required by the apprenticeship programmes
Supporting development and delivery of new industrially-focussed programmes
Marking of coursework and examinations under the direction of academic staff

Skills and Experience Required:
Hold, or be close to completion of, a higher degree relevant to research or teaching area or equivalent qualifications/experience
Demonstrably high level analytical capability
Ability to design and support module materials successfully
Demonstrable familiarity with and/or interest in the rail industry
Ability to assess and organise resources effectively
Understanding of and ability to contribute to broader management/administration processes
Knowledge of the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010, and how to actively ensure in day to day activity in own area that those with protected characteristics are treated equally and fairly
