This role brings an exciting opportunity to work in a truly interdisciplinary way at the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., to research and teach sustainability across the Departments of Archaeology and Environment & Geography. We are seeking a passionate, highly motivated and well qualified applicant to further cross-departmental strengths in solution-oriented teaching and research targeted at addressing grand environmental and sustainability challenges. The successful candidate will be part of two supportive and community-oriented departments that are highly integrated within an exciting array of environmental sustainability endeavours at our university.
The successful candidate has:
A background related to sustainability, with preference given to subjects that combine environmental, social, economic or cultural components, or which have the potential to do so. Subjects include, but are not limited to: Environmental Science/Human or Environmental Geography, Sustainability, Archaeology, Palaeoecology, Historical Ecology, Political Ecology, Environmental or Ecological Economics.
Passion and commitment to intellectual and action-oriented endeavours that will help bring about a sustainable and equitable planet.
Values congruent with the core values of our departments.
Ability to deliver and develop an ambitious and influential research portfolio.
Help develop a solution-oriented curriculum in relation to our joint teaching programmes: MSc Sustainability

MA Sustainability Studies
Role
To develop research objectives, projects and proposals and carry out individual or collaborative research projects.
To contribute to the production of research outputs and research outcomes.
To design, develop and deliver teaching across a wide range of modules.
To undertake effectively a range of administrative and managerial responsibilities.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
PhD in Environmental Science/Geography, Sustainability, Historical Ecology, Political ecology or Archaeology or any related discipline or equivalent experience.
Specialist knowledge in sustainability.
Ability to develop research objectives, projects and proposals.
Ability to design teaching material and deliver either across a range of modules or within a subject area.
Experience of taking responsibility for teaching and learning at undergraduate and ideally postgraduate level.
Proven ability to contribute to high quality research which is publicly evidenced.
