Essential Job Duties:
The Development Associate will work closely with leadership, faculty/staff, alumni, parents, corporations/foundations, and volunteers in developing and furthering external relationships with donors to DASA. This position will work in close collaboration with the development team, alumni, parents, volunteers, and constituents across the division and across campus to plan, develop, and implement all aspects of donor relations within DASA.
The Development Associate is instrumental in enabling the office to achieve its annual fund-raising goals by performing the following duties:
Processing gifts;
Writing and producing gift acknowledgement letters;
Data management;
Providing support for front-line fundraisers, endowment and scholarship administration; fund management and support for annual giving and leadership annual giving programs.
Function as the office business officer, handling all aspects of finances from managing and tracking the budget to reconciling purchases.
Other Work/Responsibilities:

Minimum Experience/Education:
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution;
Office management and program management experience;
Self-starter who can work proactively and independently;
Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
Strong interpersonal skills; writing and grammar, & verbal communication;
Friendly disposition and positive, donor-centered attitude;
Strong attention to detail and high level of organization;
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple and competing tasks in a dynamic environment;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite;
Strong accounting and budgeting skills - ability to gather and analyze budget data;
Understanding of the advancement/development profession;
Sensitivity to dealing with confidential information and good judgment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) or more years of related experience that reflects the ability to effectively communicate with donors/volunteers, reporting, budget and accounting activities, and office management.
Development, fund-raising, or Advancement Services experience.
Knowledge of Marketplace, Travel and other PeopleSoft tools to make purchases, process travel expenses/requests, pull reports and reconcile purchasing information.
Experience with Advance or other client relationship management software.
