Job Description:

Receiving Teller I, Student Accounts (25 hours/week; .67 FTE)
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Assistant Director of Student Accounts
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
May supervise student employees, as assigned
General Statement of Duties:
The Receiving Teller I is responsible for handling daily transactions of cash, checks, and credit cards. The incumbent will create and maintain spreadsheets, as well as prepare reports and assist with OneCard production. They will perform their duties on campus, with excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
(E) = Essential
(E) Processes cash, checks and credit card transactions daily.
(E) Assists students and answers inquiries with a large emphasis on quality customer service; answers telephones, generates and replies to emails, and greets guests at the counter.
(E) Searches for sources of account imbalances or discrepancies using computer systems and adding machines/calculators.
(E) Retrieves needed information from files and/or records.
(E) Answers or refers inquiries to appropriate parties for action.
(E) Assists in One Card production with the CCure security application system.
(E) Updates and maintains spreadsheets as required.
(E) Reviews reports and daily transactions for accuracy, completeness, and content.
(E) Demonstrates civility and professional, customer-service oriented behavior, worthy of emulation by other staff and students.
(E) Responsible for contributing to the WSU Strategic Plan.
(E) Responsible for contributing to Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action objectives.
Performs other duties as assigned within the Receiving Teller I classification.

Required Qualifications:
At least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, clerical experience, the major duties of which involved cashiering, bookkeeping, account recording or the direct handling of funds received or paid out, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A diploma as evidence of graduation from a business or commercial course of a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*
II. A diploma for completion of a one-year, full-time, or equivalent part-time, program in a recognized non-degree granting business school above the high school level with a major in bookkeeping, accounting or business administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*
III. A diploma for completion of a two-year, full-time, or equivalent part-time, program in a recognized, non-degree granting business school above the high school level with a major in bookkeeping, accounting or business administration may be substituted for the required experience.*
IV. An Associate's or higher degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for the required experience.*
*Education toward such a degree or diploma will be prorated based on the proportion of the requirements completed.
Proven ability to offer professional and courteous customer service.
Ability to work well during high volume periods with accuracy under time constraints.
Knowledge of the standard procedures and methods followed in handling and recording cash.
Knowledge of basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and ability to apply this knowledge with speed and accuracy.
Ability to understand, explain and apply the laws policies and procedures governing assigned unit activities.
Ability to work accurately with names, numbers, codes and/or symbols.
Ability to gather information by examining records and documents.
Ability to assemble items of information according to established procedures.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships, deal tactfully with others, and establish rapport.
Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information.
Ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently when necessary.

Must be able to work hours of 12:00pm - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, on-campus.

Bi-weekly salary is $1,111.57 (annual salary is $28,900.91).
