Job Description:
General Summary:
Responsible for recruiting, admitting and enrolling new undergraduate international students.
Job duties
Lead recruiter for new international students; including first-year, transfer and post baccalaureate students. Responsible for all aspects of admissions cycle from initial point of contact to enrollment.
Manage admission process for international students. Oversee process for calculating international GPAs and transcript evaluations. Oversee application checklist requirements for all students with international credentials. Duties also include regular personal contact with students via phone, email, SMS campaigns, and video communications. Conduct interviews, evaluating application materials, and select best fit students for the university.
Conduct local and international travel as assigned. Provide outreach and relationship development with key partner schools and organizations (e.g., fairs, travel, community college visits, high school visits). Manage relationship with third-party organizations who assist with recruitment efforts.
Serve as a Designated School Officer (DSO). Work with PDSO to ensure SPU remains in compliance. Guide students through the immigration/visa attainment or transfer process. Issue student visa documents and advise on immigration procedures and policies up to Orientation.
Maintain communication with other key SPU staff and faculty regarding the new international student population to ensure new international students are well cared for and other offices are fully prepared for their arrival.
Responsible for hiring and supervising a student intern who assists with international admission processes and recruitment efforts.
Possess and model an ability to develop relationships with students and leaders of ethnically diverse backgrounds through culturally responsive conversations and outreach events.
Work with enrollment leaders to create and update relevant marketing materials and web content.
Maintain membership with relevant organizations to remain current on trends and best practices related to admission and recruitment of international students. Regularly review and update admission practices and overall recruitment strategies related.
Participate in the planning and implementation of campus events. Event participation require some evening and weekend work throughout the year.
Assist enrollment leadership with pursuit of institutional partnerships and new recruiting initiatives - Studying markets, trends; determining priorities, targets; setting strategy, planning for international marketing and outreach.
Requirements:
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
1-2 years of applicable job experience, general experience with traditional college age students, experience or interest in marketing, CRM system experience, and presentation/ public speaking experience. International travel experience.
Experience in marketing, public relations, communication or other related field, a plus.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to inspire and motivate people when communicating with them.
Understanding of, commitment to, and ability to articulate SPU mission.
Flexibility to respond to changing market environment by quickly developing new marketing strategies as needed. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Project management skills.
Flexibility needed to expand work schedule to peaks of the admissions calendar (including evenings and weekends) and for required travel.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and familiarity with using CRM software. Direct experience with Slate CRM and Banner (Elucian) a plus.
Additional Information:
Position will remain open until filled.
Salary: $62,000 annually
This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes contributions to an employee HSA account and to a retirement account after one year of eligibility in the plan.
