Position Title Data Analyst - Institutional Research Division Enrollment Department/Office Institutional Research and Planning

collects and reports on our success, telling us how our students are doing, and identifying how we compare with other universities nationally. We help leaders understand current trends and can make a powerful impact for positive change in enrollment strategies and equity and inclusion practices. The Data Analyst collects and analyzes data, researches, and presents written and oral reports that impact university decision-making. Additionally, the Data Analyst prepares and communicates research studies to internal departments and to external stakeholders, such as federal and state agencies.
Responsibilities are to:
Coordinate, collect, and submit required Federal, State, and local reports like Integrated Postsecondary Data System (IPEDS), and U.S. Department of Education, OHE, etc.
Maintain consistent data sets describing the University’s history, program structures, students, faculty, staff, finances, enrollment and other institutional information.
Collaborate with internal constituencies to determine needs for data review and essential reporting, including accreditation reporting
Organize, compile and analyze data requests, responding promptly and efficiently.
Interpret the results of research and analysis based on the needs of those requesting data or target audience.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to produce data requirements of grant proposals and annual reports of awarded grants.
Assist in the administration and analysis of institutional surveys and coordinate third-party surveys.
Refine and manage data from internal and external information systems, surveys, creating reports with research findings.
Use ethical data practices to gather and report on institutional information and honor FERPA.
Create and complete work within established deadlines.

Proficiency in data management in Excel, web based data application tools, and database query reporting tools, like Argos, Access, etc.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Experience keeping confidential information confidential and willingness to honor ethical data standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience completing federal and state reporting, such as IPEDS, OHE and HLC.
Experience communicating research findings concisely.
Proficient in quantitative and qualitative research design and analysis.
Experience using SQL, Argos or similar relational databases.
Working knowledge of SPSS or other statistical software platforms for predictive analytics.
Experience writing functional specifications and documentation and programming data visualization software and business intelligence tools.
