An exciting opportunity is available to join a progressive agriculture department in northwest Kansas at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. as an agronomy instructor. This is a full-time, nine-month position that begins in August 2022. The successful candidate will develop a strong agronomy program to meet the demands of an ever-changing agriculture industry and equip current and future students to meet these demands. The candidate will be tasked with student advising, course development, and instructing students (in classroom, laboratory, and small group settings) on the basic study of Agronomy, including crop production science and soil science, to meet the requirements of an Associate of Science and/or transfer program.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nPotential Topics Covered Include:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCrop Production and sustainability\r\n\tSoil Management\r\n\tWeed Science\r\n\tChemical and physical aspects of soil\r\n\tLab and field analysis\r\n\tFertilization program planning and applications\r\n\tCrop pest and disease control\r\n\tEnvironmental rules and regulations\r\n\tHerbicide and pesticide use\r\n\tAbility to analyze data and information to determine crop and land use feasibility\r\n\tSoil and water conservation\r\n\tCommercial, small scale, and organic agriculture practices concerning crop productivity and soil management\r\n\tPrecision Ag technologies\r\n\tHorticulture\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQUALIFICATIONS\r\n\r\nMaster's degree in agronomy, crop science or related field, such as agriculture science, plant science, soil science, and education with a specialization in agronomy OR the equivalent.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSALARY\r\n\r\n$39,000 or higher, depending on credentials and experience.\r\n\r\nFlexible benefits program includes options for single and family health and dental coverage, life insurance, reimbursement accounts, sick leave, and vacation leave allowances.
