Assistant Professor of Conservation Policy and Science
in the
Environmental Studies Program
. EVST is interdisciplinary and known nationally for its community-engaged Master of Science (MS) graduate program, now in its 52nd year. EVST initiated an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts (BA) in 1999, and we added a Bachelor of Sciences (BS) in Sustainability Science and Practice in 2020 that requires a senior capstone project. Full information on the Program, including Mission Statement, is at ****We welcome candidates with interdisciplinary expertise in policy areas with a connection to conservation of biodiversity, protected lands, ecological restoration, and similar topics. The successful candidates will contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in conservation and environmental policy and undergraduate environmental science/ecology. Minimum teaching load is two courses per academic semester, and includes an undergraduate policy/law course and a graduate course on the nexus of science and policy. Competitive candidates will demonstrate capacity to develop or sustain relationships with conservation organizations and governmental entities to support applied research and teaching, and potential to administer a graduate fellowship program.

Position Details
Position is full-time, Academic Year (10 months), two (2) year Faculty position and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package

Salary for this position is $60,000 per year commensurate with qualifications.
Required Qualifications
Possess an interdisciplinary doctorate by August 1, 2022
in policy and environmental science or a doctorate in policy studies, public policy, natural resource policy, or another closely related field
Evidence of or potential for teaching and research excellence
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to teach, supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including conducting applied research and projects
Interest in curriculum development
Demonstrate commitment to recruiting and supporting diverse groups of students
