About the Project
This project is being pursued in collaboration with AstraZeneca and the successful applicant will be part of a larger research group supervised by Dr Cruz-Cabeza and Dr Ashwin Rajagopalan. Most pharmaceutical drugs are delivered as tablets. The design of compliant tablets requires of an in depth understanding of how crystalline particles of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients behave. This project will use a combination of experimentation (with surface analysis techniques and microscopy) and molecular simulations in order to better understand particle properties such as adhesion or sticking issues to name a few. The successful candidate will be expected to learn both experimentation as well as simulation techniques.
