Position Description Summary:
The Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering of The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. School of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for Professor of the Practice of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering with an anticipated start date of Fall 2022. This non-tenure track, specialized appointment will be made at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of the Practice rank depending on the candidate's experience. As a department we are strongly committed to the student experience and research with impact. The successful candidate will draw on their extensive professional experience to enrich our classes and mentor our students; and to help the department expand research and teaching partnerships with local industry and government. New faculty will join a diverse, vibrant, and research-active department that is housed in a new $275m building that encourages interdisciplinary efforts across many fields.

In addition, Washington DC is a center for the practice of systems engineering, creating a strong atmosphere for qualified students and successful research programs in systems engineering. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Faculty hired into this position will be expected to teach core systems engineering classes at both the undergraduate and graduate level, mentor students and build strong relationships with local industry and government partners. An initial multi-year appointment will be offered in accordance with the University's Faculty Code.
Minimum Qualifications:
All applicants must have previously served as a Systems Engineer (or similar) in a professional setting and have an earned doctorate in Systems Engineering or a related field.
ABD
candidates will be considered but must complete all degree requirements for the doctorate by the date of the appointment.
