(BCU) is a large, diverse and vibrant place to study and work right in the heart of the city centre.   Currently we have an exciting opportunity for a user-focused, driven and innovative individual to serve as the Library Data Officer for the Library and Learning Resources (L&LR).
Working collaboratively with the entire L&LR team and other stakeholders of the BCU community, this post plays a key role in developing a data-informed approach and culture for achieving strategic objectives related to library operations and user needs.
You will be responsible for:
Preparing reports and visualization by gathering data from disparate library data sources.
Collecting, analysing, building visualization and dashboards to support academic engagement initiatives.
Applying external data sources, e.g.  SCONUL, NSS etc. to benchmark L&LR performance and inform service development.
Supporting the implementation of L&LR plans for learning analytics to enhance student experience and present our value to stakeholders.
Managing the data quality and integrity of disparate library data sources and developing standard data collection processes.
Developing a library data inventory and access infrastructure.
Building resilience and confidence in data analytics within L&LR workforce.
You will be educated to degree level and should be able to demonstrate a portfolio of experience, including:
Identifying, extracting, analysing and presenting library data from multiple systems.
Assessing the impact of our services and resources on learning, research and customer satisfaction and to underpin business development.
Successfully employing techniques for data manipulation and presentation in user-friendly and accessible formats, ideally in an educational context.
Using data frameworks and methods to optimise success.
Presenting information and data in a clear and informative ways to stakeholders.
You will report directly to the Head of Library Systems and Resource Administration and will be expected to work on campus.
Our goal is to inspire all our users on their academic journey through the provision of appropriate resources, support embedded in the curriculum and at the point of need, and via a variety of study environments.
