Applications are invited to work on a double PhD between the Universities of Nottingham and Birmingham in infrastructure management, digital twins, and data science. We aim to explore introducing uncertainties into predictive models of road degradation. The uncertainties are introduced by various sources including from the errors in data collection techniques. The research project may explore using unsupervised machine learning models to classify the data and increase the predictions' accuracy by combining data and physics-driven models.
We are looking for someone to join our existing enthusiastic team, who likes engineering challenges, and enjoys computation and programming. We offer an excellent environment to study provided by the Universities of Nottingham and Birmingham, two prestigious UK Institution. After successfully completing the thesis, the candidate will obtain two PhD degrees from the University of Nottingham and the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. Candidates must hold a first-class honours degree or equivalent in an engineering, mathematics, or other numerical science topic or demonstrate equivalent experience.
