) welcomes applications for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position within the Department of Prevention and Community Health (
PCH
). Appointment as an assistant professor or associate professor will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

We seek a faculty member with expertise in researching and intervening on the evolving public health challenges regarding misinformation/disinformation in a variety of subject areas such as vaccine uptake, preventive practices, cancer control,
HIV
STI
prevention, and/or reproductive and maternal/child health. The successful candidate may examine these dynamics within a broader social and structural context and from an intersectional and critical health equity lens. Areas of focus may include designing, administering and analyzing the effectiveness of interventions broadly related to addressing health mis/disinformation, as well as studies that document the prevalence and scope of the problem on individuals, social networks, and/or communities across settings. Of particular interest are candidates with strong expertise in social and behavioral theory and mixed methods as applied to community-engaged health research and practice.

AIDS

The Department of Prevention and Community Health
works to understand multilevel drivers of health inequities and the role of social justice in the public's health. Through academic training, research and practice, we use theory and innovative mixed methods to investigate and promote community health. Our faculty of social and behavioral scientists working in public health reflects multiple disciplines including psychologists, sociologists, anthropologists, data scientists, and experts in health education, communication and behavior change. Our community-engaged research and intervention approaches range from those focused on developing and evaluating individual-level behavior change interventions using digital health approaches to those focused on structural-level changes and broader societal transformation using community mobilization, policy and advocacy.

The responsibilities of this position
will include research, teaching, mentoring, and service. This position will require the development of a 50% externally funded research portfolio and 50% effort devoted to teaching, service, and mentoring students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have:
an earned doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, MD, DrPH, and/or ScD),
expertise in social and behavioral theory and mixed methods as applied to community-engaged public health research and practice
demonstrated commitment to scholarship and publications in peer-reviewed journals
an established record of funding support and/or strong potential to secure funding
demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring at the graduate level
