Essential Job Duties:
The purpose of this position is to prepare the individual to be highly qualified and competitive for advancement into an ACVIM approved neurology residency. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in case management on the neurology service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Day to day care of neurology patients including client and referring veterinarian communications, patient assessment and care, creation of diagnostic plans, patient treatment.
* Specific care of clinical trial patients.
* Participation in house officer rounds.
* Participation in scientific literature review and paper writing.
Minimum Experience/Education:
Requires DVM or equivalent doctorate (e.g., VMD, BVSc) by an American Veterinary Medical Associate (AVMA) Council on Education accredited program, or by a Recognized School of Veterinary Medicine as defined by the AVMA.
Required Qualifications:
Computer use - familiarity with MS word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Basic statistical analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
DVM or equivalent degree, and experience in managing neurology cases.
Required license or certification:
Must be eligible for a Faculty Certificate or license in North Carolina.
