The Department for Pre-Qualifying Practice has an exciting opportunity for an individual join our amazing team as a full-time Lecturer within the FdSc Nursing Associate team.
We are a motivated, supportive, and friendly team who are fully committed to pursuing excellence to enhance employability for our Trainee Nursing Associates by providing learner experiences that are inclusive, practice led, and evidence based. We are the largest provider of the FdSc Nursing Associate programme nationally and a flagship apprenticeship programme for the University. We are advocates of the Registered Nursing Associate role and take every opportunity to highlight how the role is an essential part of the ever-evolving healthcare workforce.
The two-year FdSc Nursing Associate programme was developed to support the introduction of a new nursing role and is a work-based learning course aimed at experienced Health Care Assistants and new to care learners who want to develop themselves to become a Registered Nursing Associate (NAR).
We are a motivated, supportive, and friendly team who are fully committed to pursuing excellence to enhance employability for our Trainee Nursing Associates by providing learner experiences that are inclusive, practice led, and evidence based. The team have a reputation for delivering a programme that is learner centred and employer led as well as providing innovative, educational opportunities within a professional and supportive environment.
As a Lecturer within the team, you will:
Take responsibility for managing modules, including oversight of day-to-day operational processes (e.g., timetabling, assessment, examination systems) and programme accreditation processes.
Ensure that module design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the University.
Contribute to the development of academic processes across the institution.
Design & Develop Module Content & Lectures across the FdSc Nursing Associate Programme
Develop and apply innovating teaching techniques and content which foster enthusiasm, understanding and critical enquiry amongst students.
Develop assessments to test learner’s attainment of relevant knowledge and skills across a range of informal and formal methods.
Develop internal and external networks
Provide pastoral and academic support, enabling learners to thrive and become independent professionals who are proud to be part of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
Be supported to develop research, enterprise and scholarly activities which are integral to the role
  Essential Criteria:
Hold current registration with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) as a Registered Nurse (Part 1)
Educated to Degree level in a health-related subject
Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge
Demonstrate relevant and current experience of supporting undergraduate students/trainees/ apprentices in clinical/educational/HEI settings
Demonstrate awareness of Apprenticeships, IFATE (Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education), OFSTED and NMC requirements
Desirable Criteria:
Previous HEI experience
A Postgraduate Certificate in Education or equivalent
A Master’s degree in a clinically relevant subject area
