Long Term Substitute
Edmunds Middle School is seeking a passionate and energetic middle school Reading Specialist to join a school committed to high levels of achievement for all students. This position requires a valid (current) VT Educators License.
Job Requirements:
Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License.
Endorsement in middle school English or eligible for Vermont Provisional License.
Documented or eligible for NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher status.
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications:
Experience teaching at the middle school level.
Understanding of Cultural Competency (as explained through Essay 1 on SchoolSpring)
Knowledge of literacy interventions and intervention strategies.
Knowledge of best practices regarding frameworks of student behavioral support.
Preferred Attributes
Training and experience with English Language Learners.
Familiarity with integrated technology as a learning tool.
Experience in a professional/teaching learning community or similar learning community.
Ongoing educational training.
SALARY:
As per the Master Agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the Burlington Education Association.
