The Natural and Social Sciences Department at Bowling Green State University Firelands College is seeking an Assistant Teaching Professor in Psychology. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, nine-month renewable faculty appointment. This position also involves directing our Human Services associate degree program.
With 2,100 students, BGSU Firelands is the regional branch campus of Bowling Green State University. The University has nationally recognized programs and research in the natural and social sciences, education, arts, business, health and wellness, humanities and applied technologies. Primary Responsibilities
Teach 12 credit hours per semester in psychology and clinically-related coursework (online and evening teaching may be required).
Participate in professional development.
Participate in department, college, and university service activities.
As the Human Services program director, responsibilities will include: student advising, completing cyclical program review activities, promoting the program, and maintaining relations between the program and the community.
Minimum Qualifications
A doctorate in clinical psychology or closely related discipline at the time of appointment.
Evidence of effective teaching potential in undergraduate psychology and clinically-related courses which may include but is not limited to graduate teaching assistantships, teaching evaluations, and graduate supervisor/peer evaluations.
Experience working in a clinical setting.
Ohio licensure (or eligibility) as a clinical practitioner in mental health.
Evidence of a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the profession.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching undergraduate courses in psychology (Introduction to Psychology, Abnormal psychology) and/or clinically-related topics (Interviewing and Observation; Human Services Practicum) including as an appointed faculty, adjunct faculty, or graduate student.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness, which may include but is not limited to teaching evaluations, peer evaluations, evidence of innovative teaching practices, and experience with online instruction.
