All clinical instructors of the Nursing Assistant Program shall hold a current Vermont registered nursing license. She/He/They must be competent in all clinical aspects of patient care and a positive role model for student, patient and co-worker interactions. Clear communication skills, flexibility, a strong ability to teach, commitment, dependability and compassion are vital qualities for this position. Clinical instructors will follow the LNA program instructional curriculum and demonstrate and teach standards of care and skill competencies required by that curriculum and the Vermont State Board of Nursing and the Red Cross.
This is a part-time position- Hours: total of roughly twenty 8 hour shifts between February and March 2023. Schedule is variable upon student and facility availability.
The position requires the training and supervision of 3 groups of clinical students (up to 5 students per group) at a long-term care facility at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington and Green Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation in Colchester.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Have a minimum of five years of nursing experience in a health care setting
Have at least two years of relevant experience in the area of long-term care
Hold a current unencumbered license as a registered nurse and LPN
Documented evidence of preparation for teaching
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
Pass mandated Background check
Proof of COVID vaccination
The Clinical Instructor must be in the clinical area during all student instructional time
Arrangement for cancellations or addition of clinical hours shall be made in a timely manner, with the program administrator
Support other health careers related job shadows
The Clinical Nursing Instructor reports directly to both the IHC Program Administrator and the Principle/Director of BTC
Clinical Instructors are responsible for completing all required documentation for student clinical competencies and learning objectives
Clinical Instructors will be supervised and evaluated by the LNA Program Administrator and participate in the “Peer Evaluation” process yearly
Complete the NEAP evaluation in June 2023
Assess Students weekly and submit weekly updates to the BTC Health Care Teacher
All other duties as assigned per the job requirements
