Are you passionate about ensuring a positive experience for all students as well as ensuring that barriers to success are removed? If so, this position could be ideal.
In this position, you will manage the team responsible for student experience and student success within the Division of Arts and Humanities; ensuring the Division is able to meet its student experience and student success related objectives thus contributing to the overall mission of the Division. You will work alongside other professional services teams within the Education & Student Experience team, as well as academic role holders within the Division and central professional service department colleagues in order to achieve the aims of this role.
As Student Success & Attainment Manager you will:
contribute to the strategic development and operational delivery of the Student Experience and Student Success agendas
manage all student experience, success and attainment related projects, interventions and activities within the Division
in collaboration with relevant academic and professional service colleagues and Academic Champions, ensure a student-led approach to delivery and oversee the development and embedding of evidence-based interventions
lead, motivate and develop relevant staff, providing clear objectives and managing performance against these, to ensure that staff are appropriately motivated and trained
To be successful in the role you will have:
substantial experience of working in a senior role within Higher Education or the compulsory education sector
experience of working with student-focused data systems and within an education framework
experience of designing and implementing academic interventions to enable student success
knowledge and understanding of University regulations, policies and procedures relating to academic administration, (e.g. Credit Framework for Taught Programmes, University Codes of Practice for Quality Assurance, Regulations) and experience of applying these
good staff management skills, including the ability to motivate others and manage the allocation of work
