The Biostatistics Center at the Milken Institute School of Public Health of The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate appointment for development and application of statistical methods and software for benefit:risk methodologies in clinical trials, observational studies, and diagnostic studies with applications to antibiotic resistance and other areas of medicine. Specific areas of focus will include benefi:risk evaluation using the desirability of outcome ranking (
DOOR
), partial credit, sequential multiple-assignment randomized trials for comparing personalized antibiotic strategies (
SMART
COMPASS
), and benefit:risk evaluation for diagnostics: a framework (
BED
FRAME
). The position will be under the joint supervision of Professor Scott Evans and Professor Toshimitsu Hamasaki.
The Post-doctoral Fellow will:
* Develop and apply statistical methods and software for benefit:risk methodologies and design and analysis of clinical trials for personalized antibiotic strategies
* Conduct benefit:risk analyses of interventions in clinical trials and observational studies and of diagnostic application
* Collaborate with biostatistics and medical colleagues
* Write scientific articles and research proposals
* Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Doctoral degree in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in analyzing real data, strong programming skills (
SAS
and R) for software package development, and familiarity with statistical methods.
-Excellent communication and writing skills.
-Interest in developing and applying novel and practical statistical tools for clinical research in antibiotic resistance and other disease areas.
Typical Hiring Range
Commensurate with Experience.
