Middle School Grade 6 Math and Science Long Term Substitute
This long term substitute position will run until the end of the school year ( June 9, 2022)
Hunt Middle School is seeking a passionate and energetic Grade 6 Math and Science Long Term Substitute Teacher to join a school committed to high levels of achievement of all students. This position requires planning differentiated, standards based math and science lessons, teaming with a Grade 6 English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher and a special educator and teaming with Math and Science teachers as a part of ongoing Professional Learning Communities.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE
Job Requirements
Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License.
Endorsement in Middle School Math and Science or eligible for Vermont Provisional License.
Documented or eligible for NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher status.
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in teaching courses including math and science
Demonstrated experience in differentiating instruction and planning curriculum aligned with Common Core standards/instruction andNext Generation Science Standards using “backwards design” and formative assessments.
Understanding of Cultural Competency (as explained through Essay 1 on SchoolSpring).
Knowledge of best practices regarding frameworks of student behavioral support.
Preferred Attributes
Experience teaching at the middle school level.
Training and/or experience with English Language Learners.
Experience in a professional/teaching learning community (PLC) ; experience in co- teaching/collaborating with other educators.
Evidence of student-centered learning approaches including personalizing instruction and supporting students meeting core proficiencies
Evidence of implementing inclusive practices for students with special needs.
Ongoing educational post graduate coursework in education or subject area, including diversity, equity and inclusion.
