Job Description
The Department of Political Science and History at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Political Science. The position will begin fall semester 2022. We are looking for an individual committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching at a Catholic liberal arts university that serves a diverse student body. The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their teaching, service, and research, will continue to NDMU's mission of educating students as leaders to transform the world.
The Department of Political Science and History offers an interdisciplinary major in Politics and History as well as majors in International Studies and Political Science/Law and Civic Engagement. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability and desire to teach broadly in American politics, research methods, public policy, and international relations. The position involves teaching and advising students in the department, as well as teaching general education courses for students in the NDMU Women's College, School of Nursing, School of Education, and College of Adult Undergraduate Studies. Inspired by the commitment of the founding School Sisters of Notre Dame to education for civic leadership, the Department of Politics and History develops our students as engaged citizens; therefore, the successful candidate will bring the skills and background needed to enhance our internship, experiential learning, and service learning opportunities.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
A Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field
The ability to teach across the political science curriculum in an interdisciplinary department
A track record of excellence in both online and face-to-face modalities
