IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR: Environmental Education Coordinator
Join our team! The Education Coordinator is responsible for all environmental education at the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. We are a 501c3 organization located in Coral Springs, Fl. focusing on native wildlife rehabilitation and educating the public about the unique ecosystems and animals of South Florida.
Duration
: Approx. 35-37 hrs per week.
Work Schedule: Flexible during the week based on programming needs.Sunday, 10am to 3pm, Will need to work special events as needed and all break camps & summer camps.
Reports To: Executive Director
Education Coordinator Responsibilities:
Present our existing and create new education programs for a wide variety of audiences both at SNC, at client’s locations and virtually.
Handle and present education animals to the public during programs and talks.
Book, invoice and manage all educational programming.
Train volunteers to assist in educational programs.
Assist in writing educational blogs.
Assist in managing social media accounts for SNC.
Plan and operate all aspects of Camp Wild during Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer Camps.
Maintain records on campers, CIT’s and counselors.
Assist in marketing all aspects of the SNC to include education programs and fundraising efforts on and offsite.
Assist in the daily operations of SNC to include grant writing, clerical duties, facility maintenance, and customer service.
Assist with fundraisers and special events.
Assist in other departments as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
Have a four-year degree from an accredited university in Biology, Environmental Studies, or related natural science field.
Have minimum one year experience working with elementary age children.
Be comfortable working with and handling a variety of animals including birds, reptiles, and mammals.
Be comfortable teaching in an outdoor environment.
A working knowledge of Google and Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Access.)
Highly effective communication skills both written and verbal.
Resourcefulness to solve problems and find answers independently.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A positive, outgoing, and pleasant demeanor.
A current, valid driver’s license and own transportation and willingness to use own transportation to transport animals to offsite programs.
Willingness to help other areas of the organization as needed.
A satisfactory background check will be required.
