Essential Job Duties:
The position is responsible for the performance of a variety of journey level drywall finishing work. This work includes: installation of drywall, taping, mudding drywall seams, repairing plaster, nail and screw indentations and other imperfections to a finished product ready for painting.
The Drywall Finisher will perform journey level work in the following areas: measure and cut drywall for installation, drywall hanging, taping, drywall finishing, and patching drywall to include repairing plaster when needed. The responsibilities will also include light carpentry, constructing walls and ceilings, installation and repair of doors, windows, cabinets, flooring, furniture and other carpentry related tasks.

Minimum Experience/Education:
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Optional Guidelines: Experience in the Trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Required Qualifications:
Fully knowledgeable of machines, instruments, equipment used for drywall finishing to including: hand and power tools for installing, taping, mudding, and sanding drywall; safe use of ladders, and setting up and dismantling scaffolding
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings or sketches.
Working knowledge of the standard practices and methods of the carpentry trade.
Knowledge and skill in the installation and repair of wood and metal framing, drywall, windows, doors, cabinets and furniture.
Knowledge and skill in the use of tools for all the tasks listed above.
Ability to make accurate calculations.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to lift 30 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years experience as a journey level carpenter.
Required license or certification:
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid NC Driver's License within 30 days of hire.
