The Department of Biomedical Engineering at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to work on a project entitled “Towards an improved understanding of changes in the biomechanical properties of red blood cells in diabetic patients”. The role will involve (i) conducting a systematic literature review to suitable kinetic models for red blood cell (RBC) metabolism, (ii) applying these kinetic models within a multiscale framework for modelling RBC membrane behaviour in metabolic diseases, and (iii) contributing to the drafting and submitting of papers to appropriate peer-reviewed journals.
More details about the Biomedical Engineering department can be found here – ****The successful candidate must possess a minimum of an MSc in Engineering (Biomedical/Chemical/General/Mechanical) or Mathematics/Computer Science (or similar) and ideally a PhD. The individual will have experience in computational or mathematical modelling and programming in MATLAB or Python. The candidate must have a passion and interest in the writing of academic publications of results.
