Sitting within the School of Social Sciences, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Law School is recognised internationally for pursuing high quality research across all areas of Law and delivering excellent teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students, equipping them with all the skills necessary to make a real-world contribution on leaving academia.  To further strengthen our research and teaching portfolio, in line with our strategic objectives, the School wishes to appoint a Chair in Criminal Law or Obligations.  
The Chair will be responsible for developing and leading an innovative and internationally competitive programme of research in their area of expertise, and will contribute to the development and delivery of teaching in their specialist area. In addition, the appointee will have the opportunity to take on an informal or formal leadership role in the direction and development of criminal law and/or law of obligations at Manchester so as to enhance the Department’s international reputation in the field.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate an excellent track record of personal research achievement in a relevant area, together with experience of and commitment to delivering high quality, innovative teaching. Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate academic leadership experience or potential, for example through successful supervision of doctoral students.

Salary and terms of employment
This is a permanent position based at Oxford Road, Manchester. The salary on offer is commensurate with the Professorial role, negotiable according to experience.
