Student Services plays a key role in the delivery of institutional excellence and contributes to key areas of practice regarding the welfare and well-being of students and staff, including student retention, progression and support in transition, and an enhancement-led approach to delivering a first class student experience.
We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as Deputy Head within our English for International Students (EIS) team, working with the Head on academic development, delivery (teaching) and management of Pre-sessional English programmes, including the further development of discipline-specific pathways as required and taking responsibility for co-ordinating the development of assessments for the Pre-sessional programmes. Part of the role will involve deputising for the Head of EIS on occasion and the management of fixed-term staff on the Pre-sessional programmes.

Your priorities will include:
To form part of a senior management team within EIS to support the Head in ensuring that the Unit is actively contributing to the University's current strategy with regards to internationalisation and the maintenance of excellence within the field of Teaching and Learning.
To take responsibility for the planning, design and development of objectives and material for the Pre-sessional programmes.
To ensure that professional and quality service standards are maintained within the Pre-sessional programmes.
Who we’re looking for:
Candidate with recent experience in an EAP management/coordination role, in a higher educational institution in the UK, with evidence of meeting and exceeding objectives and targets.
MA TESOL and/or DELTA
Experience in the design, delivery and continued improvement of (discipline-specific) academic English Pre-sessional courses.
