DESCRIPTION
The Talent and Organizational Development (
TOD
) team has an exciting role in driving positive cultural change and individual and organizational excellence by facilitating onboarding, professional development, manager development, organizational development, learning, and engagement events to help faculty and staff reach their full potential and get the most from their position here at the university.
The core responsibilities of this role are to facilitate weekly orientation at the university, to consult with unit leaders and managers to determine learning needs and solutions, to assist with performance management for staff, and to facilitate professional development sessions.
This position will also design and deliver training and team building activities, and will participate in the development and organization of training materials and resources, like step-by-step guides. This role serves as a resource for GW's learning management system, and will advise clients on the use and functionality of the application to best meet their needs.
The Talent Development Associate reports to the Director of Talent Development.
This position flexible in location, with typically two days a week in-office and other days remote. There will be some days the position will report to work on GW's various campus locations as necessary (for example, when helping to organize an engagement event).
Areas of responsibility will include:
Facilitate orientation and professional development sessions
Support professional development and performance management for the university
Assist in the creation of tools and outreach strategies related to engagement efforts, retention strategies, team development, and culture efforts
Help the Talent and Organizational Development team plan and execute engagement events
|Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 1 year of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Qualifications:
2 years experience in implementing, managing, and facilitating learning and development programs.
Ability to consult and collaborate with clients, Human Resources staff, and other key stakeholders to identify and recommend solutions to improve performance.
Experience with identifying and creating metrics and reports to support client and HR data needs.
Demonstrated excellence in the creation of learning support materials using a variety of media to support a wide range of learning modalities.
Proven ability to multi-task, manage work, and successfully navigate competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking, organizational, and presentation skills; excellent facilitation skills.
Experience working in the higher education field is a plus.
