About the role
Publishing and Journalism at Bath Spa University has an excellent reputation in the creative industries for the quality of its graduates and relevance of its creative-digital curriculum. We run a number of degree courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level across publishing, journalism and digital content. Students enjoy an innovative and creative approach to learning where much of the work is collaborative, studio-based and hands-on. This is a highly practical approach, using live industry briefs and creative R&D throughout all three-year groups, especially around the latest digital developments.
Our students get the opportunity to work with industry, such as Bath Festivals, local museums, the National Trust, BBC and Penguin Random House and many other national organisations. This ensures that graduates are work-ready and able to contribute to the creative and cultural industries in a meaningful way.
The main responsibilities of the role will be working with students to help them gain a range of industry specific skills including working with Adobe Creative Suite, building websites and other digital content making tools. You will be encouraged to design and deliver inspiring and educational demonstrations for a variety of learning styles and abilities. The combination of solid technical knowledge, innovation and inspiring demonstrations are at the very heart of this role. The candidate will work as part of a close-knit, specialist team of technical demonstrators and liaise with academics to deliver excellent, student-focused modules.
